Gregor Glocke gets the Alexander-von-Swaine-Preis

Berlin. Berlin.  On the 15th of December 2015, for the first time in Berlin State Opera, the Alexander-von-Swaine award will be granted to a young dancer.

The first award winner, Gegor Glocke, was born in Munich in 1996 and is currently completing his training as stage dancer at the Berlin State Ballet School. On this evening as well as on the 9th and 11th of January 2016, he can be see in the production  “The Contemporaries - in the Here and Now”. Gregor Glocke counts among the outstanding young talents in the world of dance in terms of dance expressiveness and technique.

The goal of the award is to recognize extraordinary accomplishments in
stage dance, particularly in acquiring virtuosity, individuality and creativity of a young dance personality at the beginning of his / her career, and thereby make them known to the public. The other goal is to simultaneously call to mind the exceptional dancer Alexander von Swaine (1905 - 1990).

The endowed award is initiated and founded by “Pro Humanitate et
Arte”.  It is granted every two years.  For continued granting of the award it is provided that the current award winner on the jury of “Pro Humanitate et Arte” will submit suggestions for the next award winner.
