Repertoire

Training for stage dance lasts nine years. It is our goal during this time to familiarize students with the abundance of stage dance repertoire past and present in accordance with our motto, “Keeping tradition, Venturing out”. Accordingly, in recent years we included in our classical-romantic ballet repertoire acts from the works “Swan Lake”, “Giselle”, and “La Bayadère”. In the area of neoclassical ballet the works “Chopiniana” and “Serenade” were performed. Among contemporary choreographers whose works our students dance and have danced are Jiri Kylián with “Six dances”, Nacho Duato with “Madrigal”, and Robert North with “Troy Game. Torsten Händler created the one act ballet “Romeo and Juliet” and Gregor Seyffert his Bolero under the title “The future starts now”. Marco Goecke brought forth a premiere for the school with “All dem long day”, as did Marguerite Donlon with “The Red Shoes”. Contemporary works to fill the evening were and are Torsten Händlerʼs “A Midsummer Nightʼs Dream” and Gregor Seyffertʼs “The Little Prince”.

In cooperation with ballet ensembles and theaters, students perform within the framework of guest appearances and internships in national and international settings.
